SIFE 3

One month nearly passed since the SIFE 2 entry. It starts to be my Mom's birthday according to Vietnam Time.
SIFE is going well. We have got 4 speakers: Cindi, Burni, Sally and Citlali (all ends with /ee/ ) :D
Sally and Kirk(indirectly) give me the chance to dress cultural clothes and be something like a model at the fashion show event on April 19th. Now Nate and Lenel would be designing the flyer.

Transferring? I have contacted and sent in several documents to Dickinson Transfer. In 10 days' time, all should be in my file. So that it will not be a rush. In about 1 and a half month, I will know the result.

I have been working not hard for music lessons. I think I start choosing and focusing on more right things so that I don't waste time.

SIFE: Who tweaked my perspectives?
- Eleiner from the Foreign Language Department
- Professor Ronald Foster
- Nate, Kirk and Emily
- Stephanie
- Jamie
- Mi Xoi
- Larry Mc.Donald
- Terry Smirl
- Jamie Hoffman
- Wang Xin
- Yanjie
- Sally Misalko
- Citlali
- Quang Yugi
- Vi
- Duy William
- Duy Anh Andres
- Jesmine Chung
- Mdm Loh
- Stephanie
- Tung Ta
- Doan Lai
- Tien Anh hatman
- Julia
- Sophia
- Ed
- Ellen Barclay
- my dance instructor.
- Elisa Neckar

The one month stretches over the Spring break so I got more time to ruminate. I am into SIFE too and feel like it more. If I transfer, I will continue? I am not sure yet. It's just something I am for. I feel this.

I learn to see different things at the same time: mind, body and spirit. Things got clearer.

What would come next?
- Writing 2 trasfer essays
- Waiting for financial statement to fill in the forms
- Do literary critiques of other composers' work

Prepare to go home? To say bye to all my life-chagers :D I miss you already :)

SIFE 2

Monday, first day :D haha I love it for the first time. It seems that I am a better, more responsible :)

- Went to Writing Seminar 8-10am, got back my narrative essay. I had known the result before she returned to me because I was not ready for that morning :). She was so kind, understanding and will meet me next Monday 27 Feb to discuss my essay :)

- Back for doing laundry and contacting for SIFE. I keep calling and was not clear in my voice at all. I should have warmed up my voice before talking on the phone. :D But things go quite well. At least I could set up an appointment with Sheila on this Wednesday, February 20th. I will meet Nate at 1:30pm on Wednesday at main gate Shattuck so that we will go together. :)

- The most crazy thing is that my violin lesson was awesome. Jamie talked lots about the Zombie Ballet Show he watched yesterday. hahahah What's up with him??? He can be a perfect zombie :)))) Not much new thing but one thing, if I use the upper half of the bow, I will use my forearms only!!! :D Good. That's enough clarification for my practice next week. Now I need to think of the bow as respective to the different parts of my arms and hands...

- Terry is sick :(( Really sad!!! How re you right now!!!! I hope you get well soon my American Dad :) hahah.  I have been reading on Inversions of chords and you won't come tmr??? :( so sad!!! But still hoping :) u will.

Lastly, Nate!!! You re awesome okay? :) you found one speaker already!!!!

Okie, I'm pretty worried with my astronomy test :) but i love it so there would be no mess :)
What I have to be more aware of now are:
- People's names :))) I mixed them up so messy!!! Kathy should be laughing at me grugh coz I was telling her about Caroline who is actually not at all from Women's Centre. It should have been Sheila. I have to strongly associate the name with the concepts so that i don't get lost!!!
- Note book for meeting/appointment taking notes: Katy has a good habit of taking notes and asking questions. By that way, she can be really active in talking. I was so passive :( :D
- How to talk to organizations: I was to seek participants who won't have to pay a buck and yet I said "Can you help us?" LOL she was right!!! Must be "I 'd like to talk to you regarding the free participation that we are providing" :D
- What else, speakers thing :) I should use Richard Branson's strategy :) haha the COKE and the PEPSI one.
Hands down!
Thanks for dragging me in really tight for this project :) Like it a bit more :D

SIFE

Morning starts with great breakfast and now I'm so happy to put things here :D haha. Businesses have been bad lately due to procrastination and bad habits. I have the habit of delaying: not calling important people, not sending emails, not meeting people for the the project.

In such time, I often avoid and call others instead. I call friends, Cuc Tay, mu Lun, Duy Khung Long Lon, Andres, Trung, Yanjie anyone that I just want to talk to most of the time. Such longing for emotional satisfaction, I was unable to control. Hence things have been further delayed.

The project sounds very simple: To organize a conference for women who want to be entrepreneurs.
I have never organized such thing before. Indeed, I was in some sort of organizing the ASEAN DANCE 4 years ago but I was not serious at all, I quitted rather than not doing anything as a member there. Now I am the project leader? Damn, I should have delegated this position to other member in SIFE. But I did not! I was just mistakingly thinking that: Because I am the one who got the grant for the school, I must be leader! Wrong. That was a wrong way of reasoning. I have never had any experiences!!! Huhu!

But Micheal was right! If I don't do this, when can I have another chance to lead a project? So good! Really :D I have been so irresponsible, so disorganized, so what-ever. Now, I feel like I'm better a bit :D

To go straight into the business discussion:
- I went to meet Dolores today, whom I delayed for 2 weeks just to knock at the door and to talk. I was so bad!!! She suggested that finding speakers should be the first thing we should have done and not setting the date!!! O man why can't even thought of that!!! Thank you Dolores :) You have a very low voice, firm and nice. Haha. Really effective leader you are :D

After that, I went to meet Claire, the PR Head of my school! A terrible funny meeting. I had looked at her picture clearly, thoughtfully before meeting her to make sure I can guess about 60 percent of how she would be like :)) But damn it, she was opposite to what I had thought! She was not gentle and down-to-earth at all. She was cold, trying not to understand me!!! Sad!! But I was not sad. I still like to tell her with all my best about my project. Part of her coldness was because I was not clear about what I want from her, about what my project is, about the target audience and all that.

Then as Dolores refered, I went to Student Affairs Office to look for Katy Lanius. She was in a meeting. What! I was not patient enough to wait. I left a note there, saying that I would email her too. But now see, I'm writing on this blog instead of emailing.

Then I went to Student Organization Hub, I met JOSH who also knew KIRK :)) they look dumb together but so funny and harmless. It's ok. They are so nice, easy to talk to, understanding. No wonder, I feel so happy saying bye and walking out. Haha.

Finally I rushed to Kathy's office. She was sick today so I could not deal with all the naming/I20/Passport issue.

Not tired at all actually. I was enjoying the wind and snow on the road.

There are lots of things I knew but did not follow and other things I don't know. the Dolores thing was new. The my wrong human judgemnet thingy was new. The thing (Dolores also told) about busy entrepreneurs planning ahead...all that was both new and old :D

Anyways, I feel like really good after what I have gone through :D

Business practices, I think quite new thing to experience :D
Besides, I still got violin and guitar practice. Really nice. :D

I dont know why I suddenly get so dumb in my writing here. But it's ok to be dumb most of the time, coz my friends are still around to help :D haha

WELCOME!!!

I feel happy writing this first entry. My brother, Andres and I have recently found out our common love: KIDS. He had initially wanted to work for UNICEF in our country, Vietnam, but right now they seems to accept no more applications ( I am not very sure about this).

What is important is that we are on our right track. In the short run, Andres will work in Vietnam for 1 or 2 years after his graduation this year. This is a good way to gain experiences I believe. At the same time, I am majoring in Finance at Carroll University. Here in US, I am enjoying lots of freedom regarding learning, working and living conditions. I have been practising self-discipline and I know that it'll be amazing kind of freedom. In the long run, Andres will go UK for his master as he discussed with me. I will go France/German/UK too for exchange program. Such overseas opportunities are priceless, so precious that we just cannot lose.

And with such excitement about our future plus that I am having first day of college tomorrow already, I would like to announce the birth of "WE WILL BUILD A KINDERGARTEN" blog. On this blog, I think I would include my thoughts on very basic economics as well as business concepts that I am learning in my college. Aside from this first ray of decision, I predict that many things will come. But don't worry about disorganization! Things will not mess-up here because I will catergorize them excellently.

Thanks for visiting our blog! Remember: WE WILL BUILD A KINDERGARTEN! Please if you are passionate about any of my ideas, don't hesitate to discuss it with me here or contact me at takethetoutofcant@gmail.com or facebook me at jenniphoviet@facebook.com I believe ideas connect people and so I hope to meet you, talk to you about the ideas we have, the stars we share and the hope we nurture.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Vu Minh Huong
